Thank you to all who participated in the Largest Science Lesson!

Largest science lesson

Over 8,200 Canadians at 71 locations across the country joined together on Friday, October 18th, 2013 to take part in the Largest Science Lesson. Thank you to all of the organizers and participants who made this inspiring event possible!

We are thrilled that so many people took part from coast to coast. Although this event did not break the world record that we set last year, it was an exciting way for thousands of Canadians to learn about gravity and atmosphere and we hope that it inspired participants of all ages to share the joy of science!

This cross-Canada science lesson was a spectacular launch to National Science and Technology Week (NSTW). In his statement on NSTW, Canada’s Minister of State for Science and Technology, the Honourable Greg Rickford, said, “I would especially like to thank the thousands of young people across Canada who attempted to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest science lesson by studying the force of gravity on the Earth, Moon and Mars.”

Thank you again to everyone who took part!
