 Celebrating science and technology with Canadians!

2009 marks more than 18 years of science celebrations across Canada.  Our partners help us create diverse opportunities for Canadians to learn and for youth to be inspired and to consider science as a career choice. This year we are honoured to have Dr. Robert Thirsk, a Canadian astronaut and member of Expedition 20/21, as our National Champion. With thousands of participants each year and with those numbers growing constantly, NSTW 2009 is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet.

You can share your passion for science and technology by:

  • hosting an event
  • developing an online activity
  • teaming up with organizers of an existing event or activity that’s already on our calendar
  • showcasing your science and technology with an open house in your community
  • encouraging your science and technology professionals to make presentations at local schools, libraries or community centers.

Any event with a focus on science or technology that educates and interests Canadians is a valuable part of NSTW, so become a partner and make your event a part of National Science and Technology Week 2009 from October 16 to 25.

Now is the time to start planning.  Let us know about your event by completing this form. Also, if you would like your logo to appear on the NSTW site with other participating organizations, please email it to information@science.gc.ca

We are also providing an opportunity for participating organizations to highlight their event with a banner advertisement linking to more detailed information.  If interested, simply send the following to information@science.gc.ca:

  • Text explaining what you are doing for National Science and Technology Week, as well how your event contributes to science awareness and/or promotion (300-400 words);
  • Graphics related to your event or organization including photos, videos, or hyperlinks.

Experience the many advantages of participating, such as:

  • a chance to collaborate with other participating organizations across Canada
  • the ability to promote your agency/organization or cause during National Science and Technology Week
  • an opportunity to liaise with and discover other organizations in the field of science and technology
  • the possibility of gaining knowledge of the newest and most innovative developments in the field of science and technology

If you have any questions or if we can be of help in any way, don't hesitate to contact us at information@science.gc.ca.

We look forward to celebrating National Science and Technology Week with you!
