MARJORIE SHEPHERD (Director): It is human activity that is driving this warming that we’re seeing. We need to be able to adapt to this, but we also understand that every action we take can make a difference. Emission reductions anywhere affect climate everywhere.

MARJORIE SHEPHERD (Director): Doing science that’s relevant has always been really important to me. All my career with Environment and Climate Change Canada, I’ve had the opportunity to be a science advisor in air quality, in climate science; and being able to act as a bridge between our really expert scientists and our policy community is where I’ve had the opportunity to bring our science forward to influence the kind of programs and policies that we have in Canada.
