The National Microbiology Laboratory Science Stories

The National Microbiology Laboratory (NML) of the Public Health Agency of Canada develops "NML Science Stories" to regularly highlight some of the innovative work and applied research being done in collaboration with key national and international public health partners. While NML Science Stories only scratch the surface of NML’s innovative accomplishments, they provide a glimpse into the diligent studies being done to address PHAC’s mandate and NML’s core laboratory functions.

NML Science Story topics range from priority public health issues (e.g., sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, antimicrobial resistance), to emerging public health concerns (e.g., vector- and tick-borne diseases), and stories on the latest in cutting edge technologies developed and used at the NML (e.g., bioinformatics tools, next generation sequencing).
